The Artisan Process
Each tree undergoes a rigorous and hazardous transformation to achieve its unique look:
Electrification: After initial shaping, Russ passes a high-voltage current through the wood, creating one-of-a-kind "lightning" burns.
Refining: The tree is remounted on the lathe, where soot is meticulously removed from the fractal grooves using a brass brush.
Finishing: The piece is sanded three additional times and completed with a signature water-based varnish and wax finish.
