Owner/Resident Artist
Clarence G. Sitzman
Not everyone is able to fulfill their childhood dream, but Clarence was able to do just that when he graduated from Colorado State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, and later became board certified in veterinary dentistry. He devoted over 30 years of his life to caring for “All Creatures Great and Small”. Though retired now, Clarence continues to volunteer with the Peter Emily International Veterinary Dental Foundation, traveling across the country to small zoos and sanctuaries caring for Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!
Clarence always enjoyed wood working, but his interest wasn’t fully realized until approaching retirement. After attending a wood symposium, Clarence found himself mesmerized by the many demonstrations, specifically one on pen turning. After that, Clarence purchased his first lathe and basic turning tools and started honing his craft. Since then, he has become a member of the Rocky Mountain Woodturners, and has served as the club’s secretary and president.
Clarence enjoys the creative process and is always looking for his next project.

Russ Skinner
Resident Artist.
Russ arrived at Colorado State University from Ohio in 1969 to study Park Management and Economics. After graduating with distinction, he envisioned a forestry career but instead spent most of the next fifty years working with wood, aside from a few years in the landscape industry and as the assistant superintendent of the City Park Nine Golf Course in Fort Collins.
Russ’s woodworking journey began by refinishing furniture in another craftsman’s shop. There, he learned repairs, custom furniture design, and construction. He also developed a person ethic, understanding that attitude is as important as skill and that true craftsmanship often involves turning mistakes into “design opportunities”.
He established his first personal workshop in Omaha, NE, and later had shops attached to his homes and a commercial space in Timnath, CO with an art gallery. Over time, he shifted from refinishing to furniture construction and non-functional pieces. As he neared retirement, handling large furniture became less appealing, and he transitioned to creating late-turned trees, mushrooms, twig pots, and vases. These pieces are technically challenging, visually captivating, and bring joy to others.

Leann Starlin
Resident Artist.
Taking pictures has been a constant in Leann’s family for as long as she can remember. Drawing inspiration from old family photos and tintypes, her appreciation for the art form soon led her to capturing phots of wildlife and nature. Being in the right place at the right time, she knows that God sets the scene and she is blessed with the shot. His world and creatures are magnificent to behold, and it brings her great joy to share it with others in the form of photography.
Leann and her husband, Greg, enjoy traveling to various art shows in Colorado and the surrounding areas. Greg creates all of her frames, so be sure to inquire about having your own beautiful, one-of-a-kind custom frame, made to order.
