Faustinus Deraet

 

 

Faustinus Deraet is a commercial and fine art photographer, born in Antwerp, Belgium who grew up in Mexico City. Commercially he has collaborated with Nui Organics, Proyecto Teatro, TKO and Univision to name a few. Faustinus’ personal work has been shown in museums and galleries in several U.S. cities, Mexico, and Hungary, since 1993. He has two published books of photographs taken with Holga cameras (plastic toy cameras), one of Mexico and one of China.  Besides teaching photography to kids at Creative Action in Austin, Faustinus has given photography classes at the Emma S. Barientos Mexican American Cultural Center, lectures at UT and ACC, and acted as judge for Scholastic Art Competitions. His photographs are part of The Wittliff Collections, Mexic-Arte Museum, and have also been acquired by several private collectors.
