A graduate of Rice University, Bethany studied the history of art and architecture. She received her Master's degree in Architecture at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture as valedictorian, Phi Kappa Phi. For many years she had her own architectural practice which included project interiors at The Dallas Museum of Art, several City of Austin libraries, churches and schools.

Having always wanted to be an artist, through the years, Bethany has taught art history, drawing, and design at the University of Houston and at the University of Texas School of Architecture in Austin.

She is retired from the University of Texas at Austin as the Senior Project Manager for the renovations of classrooms, offices and auxiliaries. She was the primary architect for the UT Tower/Main building for many years.

Bethany has won numerous painting, drawing, architectural design, and graphic design awards. Her work can be found in corporate and private collections in New York, Washington, Indianapolis, Asheville, Houston and Austin.

Bethany has studied painting with Elizabeth Locke in Austin and at the Painting School of Montmiral, France.
